Fossilized Shark Tooth & Sterling Silver
1-1/4" x 1-5/8"
In Hawaiian mythology, shark teeth are a symbol for strength, power, and potency. From the Miocene, 23 million years ago, to the Mid-Pliocene times, 3.6 million years ago, the most notorious of all sharks existed - Carcharocles Megalodon. Believed to have exceeded 60 feet in length and weighing over 52 tons, this huge animal is the largest predatory fish. Their fossil teeth are found in the Wando River in South Carolina.
